What is The Law of Attraction

What is The Law of AttractionThe phrase Law of Attraction initially emerged in 1906 when writer and publisher William Walker Atkinson launched his new thought movement novel: “Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World” (Chicago, 1906).

He also was outrageous enough to use the term “vibration” (a very alarming term at that time). His project brought out the principles of thought, personal energy, resonance and manifestation in an extremely comprehensive and precise way.

He also was the very first to clarify the significance and potential of ‘Love’ to bring about aspirations.

Many people ask ‘what is the point of life’ the answer is simply ‘love’, Craig Beck

In 1911 Wallace Wattles distributed his renowned hardback “The Science of Getting Rich”. Wallace D. Wattles explained the innovative function of imagination in the magic of manifestation. Then further expounded over the wide-spread function of personal power as “material from which all things are created”.

Wattles was the 1st to devote the main chapter of a book to the principle of thankfulness as a device to sustain a practitioner’s manifestation effort.

As he described:

The fortunes grateful people obtain will be in precise proportion to the certainty of their goal, the willpower of their objective, the perseverance of their conviction, and the intensity of their appreciation.

In 1929 Napoleon Hill released his work “The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons” which made use of the term Law of Attraction extremely often.

The most well-known work of Napoleon Hill is “Think and Grow Rich” this bestseller was first released in 1938 and later went on to become one of the world’s greatest selling book.

“Think and Grow Rich” work was encompassed by a variety of secrets, like the pledge to reveal “real secret” to living the life of your dreams. However, despite the promise it never was really divulged in the book.

Skip forward to 2006 when the so called movie The Secret was pushing The Law of Attraction.  Making it a household conversation topic for tens of thousands individuals around the world.

Everyday people were now asking the question ‘what is the law of attraction’. Rhonda Byrne claimed to have the answer. She revealed that the “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles functioned as her motivation for the film.

Too Good To Be True?

law of attraction universityThe film wasn’t really a movie but simply a sequenced collection of conversations. All given by widely known new thought writers, inspirations speakers, trainers and visionaries.

The information provided by The Secret simple: Thoughts Make Things – a concept first suggest by Prentice Mulford. He suggest that beneficial Emotive Mindsets are useful and needed to bring about aspirations.

Although the motion picture suggests that those in position of power are concealing The Secret from people. I have found that people “in scarcity” are simply not that curious about this topic. It sounds too good to be true!

One of the most substantial roots of inspiring and insightful materials on the topic of Law of Attraction are the projects of Jerry and Esther Hicks.

In 1987 Esther Hicks began directing the information from the group of non-physical beings that were labelled simply as Abraham.

Even though this experience was originally extremely alarming for Esther. The strange events caught the imagination of her husband. Very soon, with Jerry’s encouragement, Esther and Jerry started offering channeling seminars to ever increasing groups of open minded individuals.

These works are summed up as “The Teachings of Abraham” and up until today (even after Jerry Hicks died a few year ago) Esther keeps on giving the seminars and conventions. During which she channels Abraham’s solutions to any concerns the eager audience members are asking.

The reality is 80% of people who even think to ask what is the law of attraction will come to the conclusion ‘it is too good to be true’.
