How to Use Your Spiritual Values to Transform Your Business

Everything is energy. This is a scientifically proven fact.

Everything and everyone around us has an effect on our bodies, minds, and spirits. Walk into a room after someone has passed away and the energy is completely different than a roomful of people celebrating a birthday.

Many of us realize that when we work with positive energy, our lives are transformed for the better. However, finding a way to incorporate that into our business lives without seeming weird or too “out there” for mainstream America.

Except, the world is changing. Spiritual values are now attracting new customers. Large companies like Patagonia are gleefully flaunting their spiritual values and making tons of money doing it.

You can too. Here’s a spiritual principles list you can use in your business.

Meditate at Work to Remind You of Your Spiritual Values

Human spirituality wains when we start focusing on the wrong things in our lives. There are so many distractions that take us away from focusing on what’s really important.

What usually sets in is exhaustion and overwhelm. This is especially true in our work lives. There’s such a focus on making money that it distracts us from what’s really important in our work and in our lives.

Meditation helps us stop focusing on everything and lets us focus on nothing. We can take a moment to slow down and focus on nothing but our breath.

Meditation is a practice that helps you think more clearly, panic less often, and even helps improve your physical health. Teach your employees and start the day off with a work-wide meditation.

Even five minutes of meditation a day can help you and your employees feel better. You may even notice their productivity levels increase while sick days decrease.

Let Go and Let Your Higher Power Handle It

As we’ve discussed, everything is energy. There has to be a source. It may not be God to you, but there is a source that provides you with your life energy.

When something big is coming up at work or when you’re worried about a problem you don’t know how to solve, that’s when you let go and give it up to your higher power.

It doesn’t mean you’re giving up. It does mean that you realize not everything is within your control. By letting it go, you usually get out of your own way and things work out for the best.

Surrendering also gives your mind a break from trying to solve the issue. Also, what you resist just persists. Letting things go allows things to finally change for the better.

And, a lot of times, if you just let it go for awhile, your mind finds a solution.

Surrendering gives you an opportunity to let go of the stress. You’ll sleep better, remember to take care of yourself, and feel less stress.

Use Spiritual Principles to Brand Your Company

If you haven’t already, start branding your company. Branding promotes loyalty and trust to your customers.

Branding also helps set you apart from your competition. This is your chance to create the exact type of company you’ve always wanted to.

If you love the environment and are dedicated to using the best practices in your company to ensure the safety of our planet, let your customers know. There are many people out there who want to buy products that reflect their spiritual principles.

If you’re dedicated to promoting fair trade and ethical employment practices to all your employees, even if they’re located in a factory in southern China, incorporate that into your brand. Customers are happy to pay higher prices knowing their products didn’t come from a sweatshop overseas.

Ben and Jerry’s started as an ice cream shop in Vermont in the 1980s when no one even discussed spiritual values. It’s also freezing cold for much of the year and no one thought it would work. But people were attracted to their spiritual values and their yummy ice cream.

Don’t be afraid to be the outlier. You probably have no idea how many others like you are out there waiting to find your products and/or services.

Feng Shui Your Office

You cannot practice human spirituality effectively if your outer world isn’t reflective of what you’re trying to achieve in your inner world. In fact, your outer world is a direct reflection of your inner world.

Start by clearing out the clutter in your life. Go through your office and remove anything you aren’t using and don’t need. Create effective systems that help you increase productivity and decrease stress levels.

Then incorporate feng shui into your entire office. Purify the air by adding plants known to reduce toxins. Clean the air by burning sage (safely). Sage kills 94% of bacteria in the air.

Decorate your office’s walls with positive mantras. Make sure the colors are bright and cheerful. You may even want to consider rearranging the furniture in order to create a better sense of flow.

Surround Yourself With Human Spirituality

What are spiritual values? That usually differs from person to person. But if you do a little searching you can easily find others who share the same spiritual principles.

Create your own spiritual principles list. Then surround yourself with employees who share those same spiritual principles. Choose vendors who represent those same value.

Try to work with customers who share those values. You’ll find you spend more time working and less time having to solve problems caused by unhappy people.

Read positive literature and stay away as much as you can from the daily news. Network with people whose values you admire. The more you surround yourself with the life you want to achieve, the quicker you’ll achieve it.

If, however, you choose to follow the news closely, complain to your friends (or anyone else who will listen), and hang out with unhappy people, you’ll find yourself miserable.

Get Support

With so much negative stuff flying at us from all directions these days, it’s hard to keep up maintaining your spiritual values all on your own. That’s why it’s a smart idea to get some support.
